Rev.
Fr. George Britos, SVD has been appointed
as the Assistant to the Vice President for Administration
for Student Services since June of school year
2007-2008. It is also in this light that everyone
is informed that the departments/units (in both College
and Basic Education campuses) under him are the following:

»
Medical/Dental Clinic
All
matters referring to whatever endeavor and/or activities
that any of the offices mentioned above may have in
the future including protocol of communication must
pass through the office of Rev. Fr. Britos for proper
action. Fr. Britos is at the same time the Head of
the CMO/Chaplain of the Basic Education Department. |

JULIA.... |
| U.S.
Peace Corps Volunteer Ms. Julia Campbell was found
dead last April 18, 2007 in Brgy. Battad Banaue, Ifugao.
Ms. Campbell has been with the College of Liberal
Arts this second semester of SY 2006-2007 teaching
in English and Literature subjects. She went to Banaue,
Ifugao during the Holy Week to go on hiking.
DWCL Community offered Mass for Ms. Campbell last
Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at 4:30 p.m. with the Father
President as the main celebrant. The whole community,
particularly the Liberal Arts faculty and students
whom Ms. Campbell had worked with expressed sadness
over her death because she has done a lot for the
students and for the community as well. Meanwhile,
expresssed gratitude to the DWCL student and faculty
members for sharing inspiring stories about Julia
during the memorial service at the U.S. Emabassy.
Prof. Nora Gallano, Prof. Marylendra Penetrante, Prof.
Gerry Viñas, Ariel Velasco, a student representative
attended the said activity last April 21, 2007 in
Manila. DWCL Community together with some friends
colleagues of Julia is also preparing a memorial service
on May 3, 2007, 5:00 o'clcok in the afternoon at the
Peñaranda Park. The theme of the said activity
is: "A Tribute to Julia: A Prayer for Peace".
All are invited to attend. |

The
Student Services Committee composed of the SAO Director,
Formation and Development Officer, Guidance Office,
CES Coordinator, Medical & Dental Clinic, CMO,
Theology Coordinator and Sports Coordinator, conducted
a planning session last April 19-20, 2007 at El
Retiro Retreat House, Sorsogon City. The objective
of this study is to be able to come up with a coordinated
and collaborative strategies and approaches to enhance
Student Services Program that would cater to the
total development of the students.

The
Office Personnel Council and the Maintenance &
Technical Council, in coordination with the NSTP Coordinator
and the City Government of Legazpi conducted a Tree
Planting activity at Ligñon Hill last April
21, 2007, 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. |

Grand Alumni Homecoming |
The
DWCL General Alumni Association will be having its
17th General Alumni Homecoming dubbed as: "Magkita
Kita Kitz sa 'o7" on May 5, 2007 at the College
Quadrangle. This affair will be hosted by the Divine
Word High School Batch '82. The Guest Speaker for
the said affair is the Honorable Governor of the Province
of Albay Fernando V. Gonzalez. |

Holy Retreat |
| This
year's Annual Holy Retreat was held at El Retiro Retreat
House, Sorsogon City with the follwoing schedules: 1st
Batch - April 27-28, 2007 and 2nd Batch - May 18-19,
2007. |
