STUDENT FACULTY

The School of Education aims to produce elementary and secondary teachers who have adequate academic and Christian preparation, and who are fully and totally developed persons, ready to respond to the development needs of the region and country and the world.

Through instruction, research and extension activities, the students are expected to be excellent, highly motivated, committed and globally competitive mentor. They should be imbued with ideals, aspirations and traditions of Philippine life and should be sufficiently equipped with pedagogical knowledge and skills.

The SOED seeks to specifically:

  1. Acquire a wide range of knowledge in the language, literature, fine arts, mathematics, physical and biological sciences, the social science, religions and other aspects of culture, i.e. human ideas, values and aspirations.
  2. Develop pedagogical knowledge and skills that are essential to an effect ive synthesizer of knowledge and efficient promoter and facilitator of learning.
  3. Develop research and extension service skills necessary for effective participation and services in human/societal development.
  4. Possess desirable traits of an educator consistent with the institution’s thrusts of excellence, professionalism and services, to enable him/her to contribute to the holistic and Christian education of the pupils/students and other persons under his/her stewardship.

The Liceo de Albay (LDA), a diocesan parochial school for boys, was founded in 1947 by Rev. Fr. Juan Carullo, a retired army chaplain. The members of the Board of Trustees were Msgr. Justiniano Romano, Fr. Alfonso Molina, Fr. William Rehente and Fr. Rustico Burce. The school building was located at corners Rizal and Maria Clara Streets (Fr. Joseph L. Bates St.) Legazpi City
